Who will the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom be? This is a question people are asking all across the nation following the short lived leadership of Liz Truss. The UK Government is in crisis once again and how do we make sense of it from a Christian perspective?
Our immediate reaction is to pray as we are instructed to in scripture. But how do we pray, when we don’t know how? We can pray in the Spirit, because then we intercede according to the perfect will of God. However as believers we should not be blind to what is going on in our nation. Many firmly people believe that God always tells His prophets what is about to happen to prepare the Body of Christ.
This is in keeping with, Amos 3:7-8 which says, “God does nothing in the earth unless He reveals His secrets to His servants the prophets.” So who will the next British Prime Minister be from a Christian prophetic perspective? Could it Rishy Sunak or Penny Mordaunt or a comeback for Borris Johnson?

In one of our recent posts, So leadership integrity does count then? Lessons from the fall of Boris Johnson we focused on the desperate need for integrity in UK politics. Now that we are faced with a new UK leadership election we need to stress this once again. It seems that every other day an MP is forced to resign due to a scandal and this is not good for our nation.
Indeed, “The integrity of the righteous will guide them. But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.” (Proverbs 11:3). We need a bold, righteous leader who walks in integrity. That is not to say they possess these qualities immediately but they should at least aspire to them. None of us is perfect and we can be forgiven, but ultimately each leader answers to God.
So, what are the prophets saying about the next Prime Minister
Prophetic Releasers has highlighted a number of prophecies about who the next Prime Minister could be. The most extraordinary one is entitled “I will raise up a foreigner”. It focuses on a prophecy by Tomi Arayomi of Pioneers Church who previously prophesied about Brexit and the resignation of Teresa May. You can watch this below.
In this video clip which includes his prophecy given on 22 January Tomi says “Number 10, your days are numbered, I have not found a man who can fill this seat, so I will raise up a foreigner and an outsider shall lead them.” He maintains this could have referred to Kemi Badenoch or Rishi Sunak. However in light of current events it now looks like Rishi Sunak could be the next Prime Minister.
Rishi is not a Christian of course. You can read how he stands on faith issues. As a Hindu, he took his oath in the House of Commons on the Hindu holy book, not the Bible. However he abstained from voting to make DIY abortions permanent and on transgenderism he says “he is led by the biology.” He is also in favour of Brexit.
God can use whoever becomes the next Prime Minister for His plans and purposes. After all, “He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” (Daniel 2.21)
Time will tell who will be the next prime minister of the UK. Whoever it is, Put your trust in God in these uncertain times.
