In his book, Prison to Praise, Merlin Carothers shares how praising God for a need is even more powerful than simply praying to God for a need. Praise anticipates what God can do. He writes, “I have come to believe that the prayer of praise is the highest form of communication with God, and one that always releases a great deal of power into our lives.”

Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!
I will praise the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
When we praise God, we are actually praying. Worship is prayer and prayer is worship. Praising God does not plead a case; praising God anticipates case closed! We are told to have no anxiety about anything but to let our requests be made to God with thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is praise.
Begin praising God and proclaiming his glory into your situation. Instead of praying for your needs, praise for your needs and you will be amazed at how God will release his power into your life.
