Great Exploits with a Servant Heart

These servants of the Lord did not sit on their laurels and become rotting relics. These early disciples followed their Lord’s command and did great exploits for their King as servants of all.

The great violinist, Nicolo Paganini, willed his marvellous violin to Genoa –  the city of his birth – but only on condition that the instrument never be played again. It was an unfortunate condition, for it is a peculiarity of wood that if it is used and handled, it shows little wear. As soon as it is discarded, it can become infested and begin to decay. The exquisite violin became worm-eaten in its beautiful case, valueless except as a relic. The rotting instrument is a reminder that a life withdrawn from all service to others loses its meaning.

Daniel 11:32
…but the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits.

Jesus reminds us that if we desire to be great in the kingdom of God, we need to be prepared to be servants. A servant is someone who expresses submission and duty to serve another person, to his credit and wellbeing. Jesus is our Lord and we are his servants. In Christ, we serve one another as a duty of our service of him. As much as we love our Lord, we love those whom he places on our track of life, to serve.

When we examine the lives of those to whom Jesus gave the instruction to be servants, we note that they all progressed to become great people of influence whose lives and service still impact our lives today. In their humble service, they carried out great exploits. Jesus did say, “He who is greatest among you shall be your servant.” These servants of the Lord did not sit on their laurels and become rotting relics. These early disciples followed their Lord’s command and did great exploits for their King as servants of all.

God-tracking is performing great exploits with a servant heart.
