In the Spirit

Prayer is more than communicating with Creator. Prayer is the process of entering the spirit realm.

Prayer is probably the most essential activity one can commit to in his endeavour to seek and track the plans of God. Prayer opens the heart to the purposes of God. Prayer focuses the mind on the presence of God and prayer opens the ears to the voice of God. Reading the word of God is also essential in discovering the plans of God, however, without prayer, Bible reading can be a mere academic exercise. Pray before you read. Read. Pray after you read.

Prayer is more than communicating with Creator. Prayer is the process of entering the spirit realm. We read, for example, that John the Apostle was “in the spirit” on the Isle of Patmos when he received the great Revelation. The other biblical prophets were also “in the spirit” when they received their visions from the Holy Spirit. Jesus was in prayer when it was said that he was “in the spirit.” Paul, writing by the Holy Spirit says that praying in tongues is praying “in the spirit.” Prayer is worship (Jesus taught us to pray by saying, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name”) and we are told that we worship God “in spirit” and in truth. Therefore, prayer is the gateway to the spirit realm. It is the most spiritual activity you or I can enjoy as we set our minds on things above, not on things on the earth. If we live in the Spirit, through prayer, we will also walk in the Spirit and bear the fruit of the Spirit

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
