He is In Your Boat

A guide always travels the path of those he is guiding. The Lord, your Guide, will trek your life track with you. So, fix your eyes on Jesus, even when it seems he is asleep in the back of your boat.

“Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation. For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.” These are some of the words that God spoke to Noah just before the deluge that destroyed the world during his time. Notice here that God called Noah and his family into the ark, implying that he would be in the ark with them.

Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging

We read a similar story in the gospel of Mark where Jesus and his disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee when a storm arose. It was a severe storm, and the men thought they would perish. All the while, as they bailed water and battled the rigging, Jesus was asleep on a pillow in the stern of the boat. Finally, in desperation, they woke him up, and he miraculously calmed the storm. In both of these life-threatening instances, men were in serious danger, yet it was clear that the Lord was with them in their storms.

If we acknowledge God in all our ways, then he will guide us on our paths in life. If it is he who is directing us, then we can be sure that he is by our side, every step of the way. If you’re in a place of peace, then rejoice because God is with you in it. If you’re in a storm, then rejoice because God is with you in it. As Charles Spurgeon said, “As sure as God puts his children in the furnace, he will be in the furnace with them.” A guide always travels the path of those he is guiding. The Lord, your Guide, will trek your life track with you. So, fix your eyes on Jesus, even when it seems he is asleep in the back of your boat.

God-tracking is knowing that he is walking the path with you.
