Nicky Gumbel represented the UK in the Unite714 Global Prayer Event, recorded on 29th May for broadcast across the Pentecost weekend on networks such as GOD TV. In the hour-long programme Christian leaders from different nations come together to intercede against the coronavirus pandemic and pray for revival at Pentecost.
In the video below you can watch Nicky’s powerful prayer for revival at Unite714. “I believe we have one of the greatest opportunities for evangelism in the history of the Church,” he says. “Covid-19, this coronavirus epidemic is a horrible disease, it’s a tragedy. However, God took the greatest tragedy of the world, the Cross, and turned it into the greatest triumph. And, I believe God can use this tragedy of Covid-19 to become a triumph.
“God is already using it to get the attention of the world. Never in my lifetime have I seen so many people interested in faith. Online services all over the world are attracting millions more people than ever go to church. We’re finding that the biggest questions about life are being asked by millions of people outside of the Church.
“We pray this Pentecost will see a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the greatest revival in the history of the Church.”

Watch the Unite714 Global Prayer Event hosted by Steve Robinson of Church of the King in New Orleans, Louisiana. The movement aims to bring Christians together across the nations around Chronicles 7:14. This says: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.”
