In Scripture, we see how Jesus forgave people. For example, the woman caught in adultery and the criminal who was crucified with him. There is no sin too great to be forgiven. All sin is equal in God’s sight because God is infinitely good. And yet, if I confess my sin to him, God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse me.

Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

However, there is one sin that can inhibit God’s forgiveness and that is unforgiveness because unforgiveness insults God’s forgiveness. It’s like two people stranded in the desert dying of thirst. A man appears with a large pitcher of water and the first man drinks all of it without offering any to his dying friend.

Unforgiveness will destroy the one holding on to it. If you’re harbouring unforgiveness come quickly to the feet of Jesus and forgive your brother. Do this you will know the liberty of forgiving and being forgiven.
