Smith Wigglesworth was a great man of God who knew who he was in Christ. There’s a story told of how, one night, he was awakened from sleep by a commotion in his bedroom. Half sitting up, he peered into the darkness only to be confronted by an awesome sight of a manifest evil spirit – a demon – sitting at the bottom of his bed. Satan knew this man. He knew he was being used mightily by God in signs and wonders, turning thousands of people to God, seeking his forgiveness and purposes in their lives. Satan was intent on de-railing Smith through fear and intimidation. The story goes on to state that Smith Wigglesworth took one look at this manifest evil demon and said, “Oh, it’s only you,” and turned over going back to sleep!
Wigglesworth said many great things in his lifetime but among the best quotations recorded by the man is this: “I’m a thousand times bigger on the inside than I am on the outside.” He knew the meaning of the words, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” Smith Wigglesworth understood his position in Christ. He knew who was on his side (or on his inside) and that if God was for him, none could be against him.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

If that’s you then be encouraged to turn to the Creator and Author of your life – your Lord and God – and, through Jesus Christ, claim that you too are a thousand times bigger on the inside than you are on the outside!
