Wendy Alec has returned to public ministry with a message of hope and restoration, sharing a candid testimony of hardship, healing and renewed faith during Dr John Michael Redenbo’s Spiritual Intelligence Briefing to mark her official ministry relaunch on 1 September 2026.
Wendy Alec, pioneering Christian broadcaster, bestselling author and former GOD TV visionary, has returned to public ministry after years largely away from the media spotlight, relaunching Wendy Alec Ministries with a new website and a series of interviews.
The London-born prophetic minister made her return on 1 September during a special edition of John Michael Redenbo’s Spiritual Intelligence Briefing, where she spoke candidly about some of the extraordinary difficulties she has faced during the past few years.
Dr Redenbo is a renowned dream interpreter, strategist, author and founder of the Dream Life Decoded Institute. A longtime friend of Wendy, he conducted the interview in a warm and informal style, giving her space to talk about her time away from public ministry and what God has been doing in her life.
For those who remember Wendy from her GOD TV years, or through her books including Journal of the Unknown Prophet and the Chronicles of Brothers series, it was a very different kind of appearance. Rather than presenting a polished ministry comeback, Wendy spoke openly about brokenness, isolation and finding God in some of the darkest periods of her life.
Wendy Alec returns after years away
“I was homeless, evicted, eating from food banks,” Wendy told John. “I have had a diabetic coma where I couldn’t speak for three or four days.”
She said there was considerably more to her story which she hopes to share in future broadcasts. “I’ve been in a lot of dark places in the past seven years and I will share them.”
Wendy also spoke about significant personal loss, including the deaths of people who had played important roles in her life and the loneliness that brought.
Her return is particularly striking given the public ministry she once led. Wendy co-founded GOD TV in 1995 and became one of the most recognisable British faces in international Christian broadcasting. She worked across programming and the creative direction of the network for more than two decades, interviewing Christian leaders and helping introduce new ministries to television audiences.
Her personal life later became headline news beyond the Christian press when the breakdown of her marriage was covered by the international media. But this new chapter appears deliberately different. Wendy repeatedly returned the conversation away from her former profile and towards Christians who themselves feel broken, forgotten or unable to move forward.
From London to an encounter with Jesus
Wendy was born in central London, where her father worked as a doctor in Wimpole Street, before moving with her family to Durban in South Africa when she was eight. As a teenager she was involved in music and sang in secular clubs. Wendy said she had previously made several commitments to Jesus but had struggled to maintain them. That changed one night after she had finished performing.
A Christian acquaintance confronted her about the direction of her life. Angry at what had been said, Wendy went into the ladies’ bathroom. There, she says, she experienced a vision of Jesus reflected in the mirror. “I saw a vision of Jesus in the mirror,” she recalled. “And He was crying for me. Tears were running down His cheeks. That was it.”
She describes that encounter as the point at which her life finally changed. It also gave Wendy something in common with the late prophetic minister Kim Clement, who became a close family friend after both had come to faith in South Africa. His death was one of several losses Wendy said she has had to process during the intervening years.
A return shaped by restoration
What makes Wendy’s return particularly interesting is that she is not presenting the intervening years as an inconvenient gap in an otherwise successful ministry career. They appear to have become part of the ministry itself.
Wendy spoke repeatedly about Christians who have withdrawn because of trauma, grief, illness, disappointment or circumstances they never expected to face. “There’s often a lot of shame if you go through hard times, if you’re not making it,” she said. “People have to put on church faces… because they feel ashamed.”
That observation may resonate well beyond prophetic ministry. Church can sometimes be one of the hardest places to admit that life has gone badly wrong. Testimonies naturally celebrate breakthrough, but many believers spend considerable periods living somewhere between the prayer and the answer.
Wendy’s return offers an encouragement precisely because she is not claiming those difficult chapters did not happen. She is returning with them as part of her testimony.
She said the Holy Spirit had become particularly real to her as Comforter during recent months and spoke about asking Him each night to surround her with His comfort.
For Christians who have known isolation themselves, there is something encouraging in seeing a familiar ministry figure emerge from a season in which public success was replaced by dependence on God in private.
Chronicles of Brothers book six is under way
There was also welcome news for readers who have been waiting for the continuation of Wendy’s Chronicles of Brothers series. Wendy confirmed that the sixth book remains very much alive and that she has already written around 90,000 words.
“Because I was ill I couldn’t write, and because of the things I was going through,” she explained. “But I’ve written 90,000 words of book six.”
She said the book will deal with the return of Jesus, although not in what she described as an “easy Christian way”, reflecting her desire to write for people outside the Church as well as Christian readers. “It’s time for me to get back to writing it and finishing it,” she said.
John Michael also indicated that the possibility of bringing Chronicles of Brothers to the screen remains alive, with the pair planning to devote a future broadcast to the series and its development.
‘It’s time to come out of the cave’
The central message of Wendy’s first broadcast was aimed particularly at Christians who believe they have spent recent years under intense spiritual pressure.
Drawing on the Biblical picture of David and Elijah spending seasons in caves, Wendy repeatedly used the phrase “come out of the cave” as a call to people who have withdrawn through disappointment, loss or exhaustion.
“It’s time to stop hiding,” she said. “It’s time to come out of the cave.” Wendy believes this is particularly significant for prophets, seers and intercessors, who she says have faced intense spiritual warfare over the past six or seven years. Suffering, she argues, does not mean a calling is over.
For anyone who has spent their own season wondering whether God can still use them after failure, illness, bereavement, disappointment or simply years spent out of sight, Wendy Alec’s return carries a simple encouragement. The cave does not have to be the end of the story.

John Redenbo: This has been a long time coming. So many people remember you from over a decade ago, when you had such a prominent voice as a prophet, an evangelist in media and an author. Tonight is the official relaunch of Wendy Alec Ministries. If there’s anything on your heart that you want to say, now is the moment.
Wendy Alec: God the Father has told me to tell you tonight, and I’m speaking to the seers, the prophets and the intercessors, that you have been under unprecedented warfare for the last six or seven years.
I want to say that if you’re flying tonight, if everything is perfect, that’s great, but I’m not the one for you. Because God has said it’s time to stop hiding. It’s time to come out of the cave.
David was in the cave. Elijah was in a cave. The Father is saying to those of you who have lost so much, those of you who have been heartbroken, those of you who have been struck with infirmity, that you have a voice.
For me to come out of the cave after what I’ve been through is a supernatural miracle, and the Lord says it’s a marker. It’s a sign to follow. He needs your voice. He needs you, no matter what hell you have been through.
John: People are asking why. Can you explain why you believe the warfare has been so intense?
Wendy: What happened with Covid, the Father showed me in the spirit realm, is that a spirit of death and infirmity was released, along with isolation, loneliness and loss. What happened in the spirit realm is that a portal was torn. There was a fissure and fallen angels and the demonic realms were able to act differently than before. Because of that, the warfare of the last six or seven years, especially upon seers, prophets and intercessors, has been like nothing we have experienced before.
God said, Wendy, this is why the warfare has been so intense for so many of My chosen. The Father understands that. And that’s why I say today is a divine marker. He’s calling you back. He needs your voice. He needs my voice back too.
John: Anybody who knows even a little about you understands that it’s one thing to go through a divorce or heartbreak privately, but you were the head of one of the largest Christian television networks when you went through yours.
Wendy: It was all over Sky News in England and the Daily Mail. Oh, the Christians are divorcing. It was unbelievable.
John: And that is why today marks such a shift. Those of us who are friends with Wendy have been encouraging her to come back, even if everything isn’t perfect, because we want to hear how the Father speaks through her.
Wendy: In the Church there’s often a lot of shame if you go through hard times, if you’re not making it. People have to put on church faces because they feel ashamed.
They have had so much loss and so much trauma that they just can’t come out of the cave. So they stay in hiding and they feel stuck. But God is the King of releasing us from trauma.
John: There’s so much of your story we want to tell, and we will. What can you share tonight about what these years have actually looked like?
Wendy: Whatever you are going through, I promise you, I have really been there. Those are not just words. I was homeless, evicted, eating from food banks. I have had a diabetic coma where I couldn’t speak for three or four days. I still slur a little, but the Lord healed me completely and He’s delivered me from so much.
I will share more. Some of it is shocking. But for those of you who are also going through it, God’s not shocked and I’m not shocked. I’m going to be real and authentic with you, and I’m going to let you know some of the things I struggled with and some of the things that happened.
John: Hearing Wendy’s story will break your heart, but it will encourage you at a level you can’t imagine. As someone who has had the privilege of walking beside her for a decade, in the unscripted moments, I can tell you the grace she carries is real.
Wendy: I’ve been in a lot of dark places in the past seven years, John, and I will share them. Please understand that I know what it’s like to be there, so when I talk to you, it’s not just words. I’ve been there, God delivered me and I care about you. I really do.
John: People also keep asking about Chronicles of Brothers. What can you tell us about book six?
Wendy: Because I was ill I couldn’t write, and because of the things I was going through. But I’ve written 90,000 words of book six.
It’s about Jesus returning, but for those who know me, not in an easy Christian way. I write for the secular market, for non believers and for those who are distant.
So it’s time for me to get back to writing it and finishing it. And I can’t do that without the Holy Spirit. Impossible. The Holy Spirit gives me a pen of fire, and that’s how I write. It’s His genius. I can’t write without Him, so all glory to God.
John: Before we finish, what would you say to somebody who has been watching tonight and feels they are still in that cave?
Wendy: God just loves you so much. The Father loves you so much. The Lord Jesus loves you so much.
Something happened to me about three months ago. Of course I always knew the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit became my friend, my real friend, the beloved Holy Spirit.
Each night, because He is the Comforter, I took Him at His word and said, Holy Spirit, will You swaddle me like a baby in a thousand blankets of Your comfort?
I ask Him to do that every single night, and He truly is the Comforter. He will comfort you and heal you. He’s our Counsellor, but He’s our Comforter, and at this stage we need His comfort. He will not let you down.
