Charlie Kirk: a life sown in courage, a legacy that will multiply

Lance Wallnau speaks into the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, drawing striking scriptural parallels and indicating how his legacy will ignite a new generation.

As Lance says. there are moments in history that mark us forever. Just as previous generations remember where they were when John F. Kennedy was assassinated, or when the space shuttle exploded, or on 9/11 — for us, the assassination of Charlie Kirk is one of those moments. It is a day that has pierced our hearts deeply.

“Charlie was unique, he combined the boldness and cultural insight of a Rush Limbaugh with the evangelistic passion of a Billy Graham,” says Lance. “Charlie could spar with critics on live television, disarm opposition with sharp clarity, and yet bring the Word of God into the conversation so naturally that his faith and worldview became inseparable.”

Lance, who prophesied the coming of Donald Trump as ‘God’s wrecking ball’ as part of God’s Seven Mountain Mandate is an appropriate source of encouragement right now for believers grieving over the tragic death of a best loved faith hero. If anyone embodies taking back influence in the mountain of politics, it was Charlie Kirk. It’s not surprising then that Lance draws a striking Scriptural parallel between Charlie Kirk and Stephen the first Christian martyr, who was stoned to death in the New Testament.

Walking through grief

As Lance says, this loss will take us through the full cycle of grief — denial, anger, depression and eventually acceptance. Many in the body of Christ are asking, How could this happen? But we must remember, as Lance reminds us, that “precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (Psalm 116:15). Precious does not mean easy, it means costly. And Charlie’s passing is indeed costly, not only for his family, but for the USA and the nations and the movement he represented. A ‘Modern-day Stephen’

In Scripture, we read of Stephen, a young man in his thirties, full of wisdom and the Spirit, whose words could not be refuted by his critics (Acts 6). Like Stephen, Charlie stood courageously, even when falsely accused of “hate speech.” Stephen’s bold defence of truth led to his martyrdom, and yet even in death, he prayed, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them” (Acts 7:60).

Charlie’s life and death echo that same witness. And just as the Early Church was scattered and multiplied after Stephen’s death, we believe Charlie’s death will not silence the movement — it will multiply it.

A seed that will multiply

Lance Wallnau reminds us that real movements have real casualties. Charlie’s life was sown as a seed into the ground, and seeds, when planted, do not die in vain. They multiply. We believe with confidence that God will raise up many more Charlie Kirks, young men and women filled with courage, conviction, and clarity, who will carry the torch forward.

As Jesus Himself taught: “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24)

A call to reformation

This tragedy is not the end. It is the beginning of something greater. May the campuses of America, where Charlie spent so much of his life ministering and challenging young minds, become fields of reformation. May the same happen here in the British Isles. May professors, students and apologists rise with boldness. And may the next generation be marked not by fear, but by a fearless pursuit of truth.

Our response

We grieve deeply. We pray for Erika Kirk and their children. But we do not grieve as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Charlie is with the Lord, and his witness lives on.

As Lance concludes: “Our focus is on courageous momentum, picking up the baton that has fallen, taking the torch and making sure that a hundred other torches are lit.”

Charlie’s death is not the end of the movement. It is a turning point. And we believe the best days of God’s reformation in America are still ahead.
